To all my WESTERN CANADA readers, hello and thanks for following me on my western trek via my blogs. A special hello to those who have written me, commented on my blog and inspired me to write even more, special people in special places out West. To name them might cause them embarrasment so I will just name some special places and you people can identify yourselves. Northern Vancouver Island...incredibly isolated but yet so hospitable. Even my laundry was done for me...now that was special care!! Calgary...great riding, great guiding, made Kananaskis absolutely unforgettable. Saskatoon...the best in dining and dinner conversation, open, frank and ecclectic convering every topic from ghosts to giblets. Lake Manitoba, I expected mosquito massacres but instead got lessons about the Jews of Winnipeg, a marvellous experience. There were many special people out west, from Anders of the Saskatoon farmers to the phantom Roger the Lodger, each sparking special memories and haunting my cerebral caves.
I close that chapter of my travelling, not that chapter of my life. Those people will be in my memory for a long, long time, some even close to my heart for their care, hospitality and warmth. But now my travels take me in new directions. Western Canada, this chapter ends. Maybe not forever. It would be sad to see that chapter end and close permanently. I hope to return and I promise I will should I be invited by those special people. Perhaps not as soon as I would like, but soon, I am most certain.
